Spód skrzydeł ciemnoszary (samiec) lub szarobrunatny (samica) z jednym rzędem czarnych plamek w jasnej obwódce. Wierzch skrzydeł samca ciemnoniebieski z czarną, rozlaną obwódką brzegową. Wierzch skrzydeł samicy czarnobrunatny. Similar species: Cupido osiris Glaucopsyche iolas Polyommatus coelestina

Additional information
	Motyle żywią się nektarem - preferuje kwiaty czerwone. Samce często siadają na wysokich źdźbłach trawy.
	Przepoczwarczenie następuje na łodygach roślin pokarmowych.
	Gąsienice żerują początkowo na pąkach kwiatowych i kwiatach, później również na rozwijających się liściach.
	Samice składają jaja pojedynczo na kwiatostanach roślin pokarmowych.
